E21, E30General discussion and technical help for 1975-1991 3 series cars.
i just bought a 87 325i and i believe it's got some sort of sports muffler on it. it's much too loud for my taste and i'd like to tone it down a bit but was shocked when i discovered the cost of a new stock replacement
I dont have one to sell, but there are a lot of different aftermarket muffs that are quiet. IMO the stock muff is way too pricey for me, and you can pick up an aftermarket one for pretty cheap..........

what do i look for...like the inlet size, dimensions, etc
not exactly sure on inlet sizes or dimensions, I'm sure someone on here knows. As for muff size, ya can get a rought dimension by measuring the old muff and get one that size or bigger/smaller, as you have a lil room there to play with.............

esty, I dont know where you are or if it would even work, but i have a 325e with stock exhaust and want to upgrade, do you have pictures of it or know what type it is? maybe we could swap, not sure it it would work though.

i'll crawl under it and take a look today....what's making things difficult for me to find one is the dual inlet/outlet configuration...unless your's is dual inlet, it won't work
the car has dual exhaust from a split manifold all the way back to the muffler
