If you're gonna use the power, you need a new rear diff

wait, dont you already have it in there? or is this a different one? .. either way, you may want to replace your subframe, however i know many people turbo their e30's and have produced much more than 450HP, however i dont know what kind of modifications they have done to it though

Maybe the M cars have one that can, but I bet the Ford diff is easier to find

i'm sorry but ford in a BMW? no thank you.

The only reason i like the LS1 swap is because its lightter wider and lower to the ground so it makes sense.

I just can't aggree with a ford engine in a bmw.

The engine is not a Ford, the diff in the back axle may be. sbc = small block Chevy

if your'e gonna get a small block chevy go get a ls1 or a ls6. i would imagine they'd be about the same price as a new small block chevy engine.

Get a Ford 9" rear-end and start working on it so it'll be ready. There goes your independent rear suspension. Actually, too much more of this kinda' mods and you're gonna be in the wrong forum/site/hobby.

i think the Z3 roadster(or the M roadster) has a reinforced subframe, just like antiburn said, i would just replace those, and nothing else, and if something breaks,t hen thats wat you need to fix

Don't go with a Ford 9". You will trash the handling of the car since it will be a solid axle instead of IRS. Not to mention the extensive work that will be neccesary to make it fit properly.

'02's right. leave the IRS in there and try to find an original motor. I think it takes more of a wrench to restore a car than it does to cobble together a hotrod.
