What is this under my dash?!

Under my driver side dash (below steering wheel) there is a box attached called AutoSafe. Has a switch, which I'm assuming is on/off and a small hole, which i'm assuming has an LED in it (as it doesn't seem to work/do anything)

Anyone know what it is? Google yields responses for autosafe being some sort of in-car safe that you can put valuables in. Believe me, this isnt that.

I'll take pictures later. Need to borrow a camera (i bought my BMW with my Nikon D50.. haha)

My other post explains who i am (second time posting here)

Thanks for any responses!

I'd guess it was a kill switch lock to keep the car from starting unless the driver knows about it

I guess since it was a used car the previous owner had it installed or maybe the one before that. I think it could be a killswitch also, turn it off and try starting the car.

maybe ill mod my bmw into a tank before you get here. convert some high gauge pvc piping into an aluminum baseball bat launcher. take your entire front grill out FROM 300 YARDS AWAY. WHAT THEN HUH. WHAT THEN.

you'd still catch up to me, my car is stock. boo.

i need to meet some friends in minnesota with knowledge and tools. i'm 20 and a computer nerd, spend all my cash on my new apartment and some computer stuff.. cant afford tools atm.. so can't do much to my car yet..

although i won a 7 color neon underbody kit.. its realy nice.. i wana put it on (just for turning on in maple grove when cute girls are around)... but I don't have the tools to push the screws up into the underbody haha.

and i'm having an issue with my front right tire.. after i did a break change. i think im starting to hear grinding (not sure, my engine is kind of loud, hard to tell).. and the wheel shakes when i'm slowing down (with breaks obviously)..
