Yes, I would take plastic over wood. Wood is for old luxury cruisers (read Cadilac, Jaguar, and MB), NOT for sports cars. Even though you guys drive automatic 4 doors, I still like to think of my bmw as a sports car. My z3 has brushed aluminum... MUCH better than wood. My 325 has plastic... and that's a lot better than wood.

You know I'm just busting your balls right? Haha. I know, the essence of the Ultimate Driving Machine is not the luxuries that are labeled upon it, but rather the expierince to be driving her. I'll state that a non wood interior is some what more along a more sportier feeling, however, let me state this as well, if you look at an econo-line car, the quality of material inside is on the cheap end. If your dishing out the money for a bimmer then you would like some little amenities that make it seem more like it's worth the cash. Now, wood isn't that neccessary, but it looks better than the molded plastic that betroves other makes. I'll admit that aluminum does look nice on some interiors, but what if your interior just doesnt match. Take mine for example. I have a "sand" leather interior. Aluminum would look terrible, but, if it were Black... damn.. it would look sweet.
I hope my point wasn't lost in all that.
