how does a key cutting shot mess up on cutting a key?? That's just rediculous. I would definitely not go back there.

On a brighter side, you now have a working light in your E30 key.

I remember when I was like 7 and my grandpa had his E38 535. I thought the flashlight on the key was the coolest thing...

haha yea. I love it. Its come in handy a couple of times already.

You pretty much have to go to the dealership. For mine, i had to show them the registration with my VIN, and then they have the lasercut key sent from Germany in 7-10 days. Which reminds me i should go pick up the one i ordered lol.

I went to a dealership asking about this yesterday and they said they don't do any key work there. If you want a new key, they send your VIN number to BMW and BMW fedex's them the replacement key.

I was asking if I bought a cool flip-out key, could they cut it for me. Answer was no of course.

Motorwerks BMW (dealership) has a lazer cutter and they cut them through their parts dept.
