The hawk hps is supposed to be a pretty good high end street pad, there are also mintex reds and a whole bunch of others.

Rather than linking to another board, I'd appreciate it if you could transpose as much of the good information as possible onto UB, so if someone searches later on, they have all the information here on our site without going anywhere else.

So I want to do pads, is it going to make a difference if i dont change out the rotors, Im not ready to get rid of my good rotors if i dont have to. Meaning i will only change my pads. Just pads should make a difference right?

Edit** i looked on tirerack, which was recomend by the E30tech site. IT says for performance street applications Hawk HPS. I think i will go with those. Ill shop around and tell you guys where i get the best deal.
$58 for the front and $66 for the rear.

The Hawks should have less fade and better stopping power. I just ordered a set of PBR Metal Master pads to try out- they should have better stoping power and less fade but will wear the rotor faster- for when I do new rotors all around and SS lines I also ordered ate power discs and oem rears and a couple liters of superblue. Here is the metal Master description from bmp design:

While not considered a race pad, the PBR Metal Masters will work well for most driving school situations. Please note metallic performance brake pads will reduce rotor life.

I've heard nothing but good about pagid pads. Our friends in Grand Am run them on their Daytona Prototype.

A lot of people have problems with the Axxis pads squeaking. I believe Spiehlur had this problem.

numark, heres the deal: hawk HPS pads, as from what ive heard, are very nice and have very niec stopping power, but the meterial that is put on to make them a little quieter isnt there or isnt as good, so sometimes they squeak badly, even when no where near dead, as from my expierience with axxis ultimate, they are amazing, less brake dust, definetely better stopping power, and no noise, they are ceramic, so they will wear down your rotors, but thast nothing to worry about, in the next maybe 50 thousand miles your just giong to need new rotors
