bumpers on e30

i dont know if this has been done, or if it is possible. if there is a thread on this, just send me a link.

what needs to be done to convert the ugly aluminum bumpers of 87 and older to the 89-92 plastic bumpers? i want to replace my bumpers and valence

will the plastic ones bolt right up to the existing mounts and fit flush on the front?

to do the bumper conversion properly, you will need to change the front valence, then the front bumper will bolt directly up. The back requires a bit of work though, as the early model cars (except convertibles) have a higher rear wheel arch. The ends of the plastic bumper will not fit flush with the wheel well, and if you want to do it properly, you will have to modify the ends.
