Bought my 4th bimmer last night
In need of a winter beater, and with refusal to buy a practical or logical winter vehicle.... I found this '86 325es
I've been looking for a 89-91 E30 for a few months now, and have found very little.... and with snow in this week's forecast for southern WI.... I needed a car
I found this 5spd in the nw burbs of chicago on bf.c
150k, BMWCCA member owned and pampered for 17 yrs... 19 years of records with no real maint. issues
The kid I bought it from only had it for a few months, but put a new tranny (90k on it I think), power steering pump, wheels, and looks like he went a little crazy with the spray tint and decals, but will be an easy fix. He also gave me the bottle caps with new rubber on em for the winter.
more pics taken by the kid I bought it from at

I actually sold my '85 318i this weekend.... that thing was a bomber
and my first bimmer (which I sold 3 years ago) 1985 325e
both of them had tons of maintnance issues that were neglected/ignored prior to my purchase of them...... there was a lot of work to be done to them that I didn't really find would be worth doing/spending $$ on
but I missed the E30... w/5spd they are way fun to drive

Oh! 4th ever... I thought you meant like you're forth that you currently own.
My bad, I misread it.

i'm scared of my 318 in the snow (Very little grip at the rears if there is more than 1/4 inch of snow or more), can be a lot of fun but people are dumb and will probably destroy my car by running into me.

Very good looking ride, especially for a winter beater. I think the checker pattern looks great with the red. The wheels and side skirts are a little much for my taste. I prefer a more stock look. I agree that he did go a little overboard with the spray tint. All in all a great winter car. Congrats

I paid 3500-- he wouldn't budge on the price, said he wasn't in any hurry to sell it, so I gave in... more than it's worth, and much more than I'd wanted to pay, but again, I needed a car..... I'd keep wasting too much valuable time.... and shitloads more in gas just going to look at cars.... and it is supposed to snow tomorrow already

my 318 was terrible... I spun it into a snowbank on the way to work and had to get it towed at 4am ... but it was an auto, had a terribly high idle, a bad master cylinder.... so stopping was much easier said than done.... I also never put any weight in the trunk... so the ass end would slide out just while idling

so you are the one who bought that car. it looks good except for those wheels. I wish we had more cars in that condition up here for that price.

nice car, but wouldn't a RWD not be the best car for snow though?
