My first E30
So I did it. I added what is surely the coolest little car I have ever owned, a 1991 318is, and it will not be a daily driver so I will be able to hopefully keep it on the road for ten years or more.
I live in Edmonton and the car is originally from Vancouver. So me and wifey, flew out to Vancouver last weekend and grabbed it from the third owner the car had ever had. He had done a ton of work to it, which I will get into later. And he was adamant that the car was tip top. I did my best to look over the car but seeing as it was a Saturday night, and I had to be back home no later than sunday evening, I was not able to get the car independently inspected. I knew through a close friend that the car was infact 100% rust free. So I decided to do my best impersonation of a mechanic and proceeded to do my best job inspecting it. I quickly discovered a leaking rear main seal and had a real hard time noticing anything else. So I made a deal with the seller. The drive home was awesome! The little 4 banger did great in the mountains and I made the trip in 12.5 hours flat, with two stops to eat and one to recieve a ticket from a very friendly mounty.
I got the car into Eurasia Automotive and they did their OOPI, and I learned that there was infact a f other things that had to be repaired in order for them to sign off on the inspection.
So an additional 3 g's and ill be on the road in a nearly fully restored 318is.
I will post pictures very soon. And also list all the mods that have been done by bother me and the previous owner.
