In its final year, the 1988 325 (dubbed "Super Eta" by enthusiasts) was equipped from the factory with special pistons, 325i head/exhaust system, and Motronic 1.1 engine management control, bumping horsepower up to 127 and raising the redline to 5500 RPM.

its also not pronounced ee-tee-a its eh-ta

the benefit of the super-eta is that you can swap on the "i" head with dual valvesprings and cam to create what is known as a 2.7i with the proper engine management, it is possible to make around 160rwhp.

check out www.e30tech.com for tons of turbo info. lots of experience and knowledge on turboed e30s there.

the 86 cost $2400 CDN, but i have about $5000 all told into it, and it isnt anything special. the convertible cost me $6500 CDN and then i got a hardtop for another $1000 CDN. I haven't put much into it yet other than some minor maintenance, but come spring its getting a respray and bumper swap. By the time i have the car where i really want it to be, i'll have put another $10,000 into it.
