So basically i took off the tube that runs fresh air from behind the lights into the airbox off.. and slapped on a k&n cone filter, then i removed the oem panel filter from inside the airbox... is this anymore stupid than just putting it on your afm?? can it be harmful, besides getting engine heat sucked up? let me know this is my first bimmer im a volkswagen guy at heart but like i said in the introductions thread i couldnt let this bad boy go for such a good price!, anyways please give me your "no bull shit" answers i wont be offended! haha thanks!

well just in case anyone was wondering... its pretty much what i thought it would be, has a nice sound when you romp on the throttle and has a neat whistle sound as it comes down thru the rpm's. no real notice in anything really other than the throttle seems a bit touchy-er.. if i could make a heat shield for the engine side it could work awesome.. probably lmao.. the left side of the filter on the fender side was cold to the touch while the engine side was as expected quite warm... and in case you were wondering this was all after a nice 45 min ride down the german countryside!
