Timing belt?
i know some bimmers like 318's dont have timing belts, but for the 325s... how often should the timing belts be changed? based on the miles or amount of time? i have a 86' 325 that i might hafta cop a timing belt for it.
60,000 is recommended, but if i owned a car with an m20, it would get a new one every 30-40k.
you do NOT want to deal with a broken Tbelt, its quite possibly the worst thing that could happen to your m20, that along with a money shift at high rpms.

i saw the aftermath of a broken timing belt about a month ago. there was a 325i in at my mechanics shop that had just done itself..... 6 bent valves..... lots of money... car was off the road for a while.
definately something to keep track of.
