downing atlanta makes sweet superchargers. some guy had one on a z3 at the andretti meet a couple weeks ago. it was sweet. his car was soo hooked up he had alcohol injection. he had chase cam hidden in his custome front bumpers (he had SWEET splitters complete with control arms so you know they were functional, not just cosmetic.) custom roundels all around. custom interior.

back on topic.... i've heard good things about downing atlanta

Just by a complete M42 from a E36. Make sure the M42 has 2 pullies, and it's not an M44. That's what I plan on doing.

Nope, the change over year was 1996. The shitty M44 was BMWs answer to a OBDII compliant M42.

Yeah, just make sure you get one with the two pully system. Also, you'll need the complete wiring harness and ECU.

yea stock is 134 hp, my chip probably got me to 144. I need some exhaust and cold air intake and some other power increasing mods, but from most of the stuff I have seenits hard to get 180hp out of these engines. BUT I may be wrong, if I can get a shitload of power out of my little four banger someone tell me.

p.s. i think a supercharger is out of the question (not in the budget) right now.

Its possible to get them going pretty good i think.. i did a little research a while back as i almost bought an e30 318. I think you can crank up the timing a little and adjust the valves and make alot more power over stock.. and thats all on stock everything, no mods, just tuning.

Theres a good 1.8L tuning thread over at r3vlimited i beleive.. maybe hamman can direct you guys to it..

i know the E30 M3 4cyl puts out 200hp stock but thats 2.3L. So it doesnt seem like 200 is hard to get to. My old Mercedes 190E was 2.3L and it put out 136hp stock, the 2.6L inline 6 put out about 190ish.
