E30'ers how long have you had yours? what mods so far?

Ok all e30'ers how long have you had your car and what do have on it(any mods engine or interior or exterior) and what do you plan to do to it soon(soon as in 1 to 2 years) everyone think senseably(spelling??)

I've had mine bout 1 year and 1/2 its a 1988 325(Super Eta)

ive got k & n, high performance spark plugs, high performance wires, Redline fluids, brembo rotors, cool willy pads, somewhat lightend, Custom angel eyes, bumper tuck, and bumpers painted.

what im gonna be doing to it is replacing front seats with lighter racing seats, fan removal, smoked tails, smoked turn signals, bigger thorttle body, turbo(yeah thats right) bigger injectors, chip from powerchip or dinan don't know yet, better tires or tires period(some know what im talking bout) replace stock radio.

You have a Super Eta, like me.

Here's what I think you should do: Get the top end off of an I engine (head, throttle body, intake manifold) and slap it on the Super Eta Bottom end.

You're redline will raise to the redline of that of a 325i, and you'll have the torque of the eta.

Not only that, it's even more ideal for a turbo.

That's what I'll be doing, minus the turbo, since I don't have money for that.

I'm spending on my money on upgraded bushings, shocks, springs and the works. That will give me more fun.

I'll get to my car later, no time now.

OHH, by the way. There's no chip for the Super Eta, so that ain't gonna happen. If you go the stroker route like I said above, you could throw in a 325i ECU, which is my plan, and get a Jim Conforti chip that you would normally get for an I engine.

Also, what "Racing seats" are you getting? Stock seats are heavy, but not getting true racing seats will not lighten your car much at all noticeable.

What have you done to lighten your car? Remove AC? Remove the tar from the pass compartment and trunk? No spare? What did you do?

What the hell are Cool Willy pads? They sound like a maker of frozen ice cream treats??

What are you replacing your fan with, since you're removing it?

had my car for 1 year two months, 5 sets of tires, and Ronal LS rims with 225 tires..thats all i needed, but i wouldnt mind some Bilstein shocks and IE stage 3 springs and the 25/22 sways, thats all i need.

Id much rather invest in driving lessons then parts.

My car has been in the family since new. I have had it a little over a year but have driven it a lot. I love the size -- it's just right!

with the i head and e block you get like 7.9 or 8.0:1 compression...worthless unless you build for 20+psi

yes racing seats are about 70 lbs lighter such as recaro, corbeau, TenzoR, Bride

Umm, on the compression - no, you're wrong. If you put the I head on an Eta bottom with with NORMAL Eta pistons, that's the compression you'll get. But, the Super Eta pistons are domed like the I pistons. The compression of an I head on an Eta bottom end with an Eta crank and Super Eta pistons is somewhere around 8:5.1

Also, regarding the chip. I personally wouldn't trust this "powerchip" place. I just looked - HOLY SHIT! $440 fucking dollars?!?! YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING. For that increase, it is NOT worth it. For that much, you can take the I top end and get a much better outcome. That, and a higher redline. The Super Eta is the PERFECT base for a stroker. Make use of it. Don't get that chip, WAY overpriced.

I'm just sharing my suggestions. You can go any route you see fit. Either way, teh car should be pretty cool.

according to to Bently bible for e30's i have 8.5:1 compression ratio already so from what you said i would be getting same compression i think my torque increase but the hp actually lowers i know this from a guy that did it to his super eta, but he has more torque at a lower rpm thou but that was on a completly stock no chip no exhaust so he doesn't know what hp could be after he does that stuff to it. but i wanna try turbo on my car first cause no one has done turbo to a stock super eta so i wanna try that first just to see what it the turbo can do with that torque it has in lower rpm's. but yeah i know thats hella expensive for a chip, i think the dinan one is cheaper too.

Well I don't have an E30, but this is the closet the site has to offer, so here goes:

1790 2002

Second Owner

Original Color

Engine:
38/38 Dual Barrel Downdraft Carburator (SP?)
Head Re-worked (done by original owner)
Higher Compression Pistons (done by original owner)
BMP design sterling coated header

Drivetrain:
New Sport Clutch
Billit Short Shift Kit

Suspension:
Bilstein sports (came with car)
Upgraded Springs (on car when I bought it)
Thicker sways (came with car)
Front and rear strut tower brace with battery relocation kit to rear
320i rear drum brakes (came with car)

Interior:
Recarro seat for driver (came with)
Momo steering wheel
Momo shift nob
All original interior in great shape

Exterior:
Koni 15*6.5 wheels
Yokohoma AVS ES100 205/50R15 tires

The car runs very well, but I need to replace alot of the suspension peices because they are begining to wear out. When I get money I will do those and then it will feel so solid I can't wait
