Finally the shop is out of the picture
Alright so anyone that has been keeping up with my threads once in a while about the engine swap on a 1990 325Ci knows that its been in the shop for a while getting "tuned up"
heres my situation. yesterday I was sitting at home and I thought wow it doesnt even seem like I have a bmw anymore....
the last problem the car had was it slipped out of gear when driving away from the shop last time. its an auto tranny i dont know whats wrong with it but they said that the pump inside the transmission was failing. because there was no fluid being pumped around. I went to the shop and told them i wanted my car back working or not and asked them what they had done on it since I was there last. they said "nothing". I am taking the car home now and im going to do a auto to manual swap. Ive been quoted 800 dollars for everything from a local parts house does that seem reasonable. Or is there any chance i could do something to this auto that is in there to get it to run and then i can drive my car thats all i want right now is to drive it.
thanks ahead of time for any help
-Casey

800 is very reasonable for a complete "kit" for swapping over to a manual.
