'90 e30 ignition problem
Hey guys. Need some advice here. I have a '90 325i coupe. When the car has been idle for over 2hrs, it starts up fine...like when i get up in the morning or leave work at the end of the day, it starts up instantly without a problem on first try. But, when the car’s been running (ex. 20min drive) and then left off for under 2hrs, it stutters excessively on start-up and takes at least 2 attempts to start, sometimes 4. To make matters more confusing, when the car is left off for about under 10min, it will start up first try. It's just when it's been warmed up and then left cold for 1-2hrs that the problem occurs. Is this making sense? Anyway, two dealerships have looked at the problem and have no idea what’s wrong (spark plugs have been changed). The problem seems to be related to the expansion and contraction of some part? Any ideas?

crack in the cap or rotor, coil going bad. Bad check ball in a fuel pump causing it to not hold pressure when turned off. Start there, see what you find.
