Back Up Light Failure

After this 09 blizzard, i was cleaning car off and my dad noticed that the backup lights werent working. Could that be a wiring problem or perhaps light bulbs?

Could be. Also check fuses, maybe a relay. I'm not sure, but there might be a backup light switch on the case of the transmission, obviously activated when reverse is selected, which could have been affected by the storm.

+1 ^

weather changes with moisture usually cause poor contacts with the bulbs, though it may be coincidence an it's a fuse or the backup switch

First get a multimeter and see if you are getting power from the contacts for the light bulb. Sometimes the bulb may look good but isn't, or there may be a short in your light assemble that has lost ground

I have had this problem with some older Mercedes
