E30 325i M20 head gasket

Well this was a fun day. On the way home car started over heating and I stop to cool and add coolant and water. Starts overheating again right away! So I add more -- but I get to thinking. what if it's the water pump? Then it hit me! Head gasket? OMFG there's water in the oil dipstick! Any ideas on the cost to fix?? :( :conf Edit: turns out to be a cracked head! :doh

Seems the shop where my car is found a head ready to go for $650. I guess I gotta do it, I am well committed on the car... :conf

Make sure that all the coolant passageways in the block are cleaned out with water and let time to dry or use a air gun to blow out the holes. Also you might wana throw some cheap oil in there and run it for about 30min driving. Drain the cheap oil and put it some good stuff. Just to make sure all the coolant is outa the oil.

Well the car was done yesterday. The shop dude kept it for testing until today. It was very expensive! But the car runs like new now and feels like it has amazing power. He told me to break it in like new, which I'm doing :drive2
