ok so one of my lines was bad so i replaced it but after that i figured out that the pump is bad because i figured out that the fuel that squirted out was just some left in the line now there is no fuel coming out of the line that goes into the filter but it could be the relay i pulled it out and put it back in i dont know if thats how you reset it or not?

A relay will be good or bad, there's no middle ground on them. Cheap to replace anyway. What you need to know is, is there power getting to the pump? Use a volt meter and check it, if there is power getting to the pump and it's still a no go, bad pump. Time for a new one. Just make sure there's no popped fuses and there is in fact power making down to the pump before you replace it, no sense in throwing out serviceable parts over a wiring issue.

Key on engine off right when you first turn the key you should get close to source or approx 12 volts at the pump. Make sure the meter is on and ready because it will only get power for a few seconds to pressurize the system then turn off. Cranking should re-energize it. If you have power at the pump and no pump action, there's your problem. Good luck

That MIGHT be a good reading. I'd expect to see somewhere close to battery voltage (NOT exactly battery voltage, that would be an open ground problem) When it gets voltage does the pump spin? If no then its bad, even with that low reading it SHOULD be doing something.

Yea that was what i was thinking im going to buy one at napa because at the bmw dealer its $550! vs at napa it is $79 im also going to buy a new relay just for the heck of it because its not that expensive plus it could be part of the only getting 9 volts when the battery is getting 11.3

Yup, and that battery voltage is technically discharged as well. If you have a charger, pull the battery out of the car and charge it while you do the pump (keeps the danger of sparking and fire down with the battery out).
