E30 17" rims and tires
I have a quick question. I have 17's on my 89 325is. I just recently installed a brand new suspension, basically new everything, (new eibach sways are coming next week). The tires on the 17s are 225/40/17 and they rub, all was fine before the new sus and 1.25" drop. I love the rims, is there a different tires size I can use to keep the rims and make them work. They rub barely and under hard cornering and ideas would help and be appreciated. Thanks.

Will a set of 205/40/17's help get rid of the bad rubbing in corners and bumps. I am taking the car on a 450 mile trip and want to have this situation in order before leaving. A buddy told me the big Eibach sways I am installing should help some. Thanks in advance.

They'll probably help, it just depends on how close the tires sit to the wheel wells, how much travel the suspension has, the tires inflation level and deflection angles in corners, and how hard you drive it. Then there's alignment angles, thrust angles blah blah blah. Basically a BUNCH of fairly complicated math involved. Which is why cars modded in the fashion your describing have a lot to do with try, try again until you find JUST the right combo. Its fun sometimes, aggravating as all hell others. But almost always expensive, that's why guys end up dumping 30-40 G's sometimes into modding a single car, and even that number can be a bit tame when you really dig into it............
