Yet another power loss/hesitation thread

Every time I see one of these, though, it always seems to be a different problem, so a quick and dirty search didn't turn up much (but I'm not going to be searching for stuff like this when I'm half asleep anyway).

So the problem is this. I get a lag or hesitation at about 1400RPM and at 2100RPM occasionally. It doesn't always hesitate every single time it hits these RPMs but it does it at the most inopportune times, such as making a quick left turn!

This sort of hesitation is audible as well as being felt. You can feel the car sputtering and trying to stay "alive" during this time and there is almost no acceleration at these RPM ranges when it actually occurs. Sputtering and hesitation; what could this be? I ran a bottle of fuel injection cleaner through the tank a few weeks ago but it still does it. I noticed the car does it a lot less than it initially did when the symptoms first showed up.

The problem first reared its ugly head after my car got back from the shop. The issue was that the wires to the fuel pump were corroded and the car wouldn't start. That has been fixed and now the hesitation showed up, which wasn't present before I took it to the shop (had a different problem). I don't know if this is a coincidence or whatnot, but the fuel pump has been a suspect in the previous problem that I originally took it to the shop for. I've had two shops test the fuel pump pressures and it checked out OK. Could this be an intermittent fuel pump issue or could this be something else?

Every other RPM range above 2200RPM is fine and sounds as mighty as can be. This hesitation only occurs at about 1400RPM and 2100RPM and doesn't always happen. Today it happened twice.

Might want to check to make sure that hoses are tight and not coming out of your intake. Have a 325i 1989 that has a turbo and one of the hoses came loose rendering my car almost powerless and running horrible. After that might want to change your fuel filter changed mine and was almost full of junk. It's not hard and not to expensive.
