Hi, totally new the BMW world and this forum, so I am seeking your help!
Recently I have been looking at buying another car, and I really want it to be an E30!
Just in my San Diego neighborhood alone, I have noticed around 12 E30s. I put some fliers on the windshields and got a few answers in addition to a few sellers I am in contact with via craigslist.
At this time, I have 2 cars that are promising.
The first one is a 1986 BMW 325 ES, going for 1600, it has a 5 speed and 171k on it. I was told it's a bit high, so what should I offer?
The second one is an older ES [with the diving board bumper], not sure on the mileage, but is for sure over 200k, maybe 250. It is a 5 speed, has a dent on the rear fender, and also damage to the front air dam. The owner isn't well versed in the entire BMW world, so she said it was an 89, which I am pretty sure it can't be because it is an ES model. She also told me it needs some repair relating to water, but is still drivable. This could be anything from a hose or a pump to the radiator. The good thing about this one is that I could get it for almost nothing imagine.
So, my question is, even though they are both the ES model, should I still consider? And, what should I offer for each car?
Keep in mind I am really on a budget here, and I am dying to have an E30 I can play around with.
