1988 325iC -Idle too fast
1988 325iC
Hi,
Car starts after 2 or 3 revolutions and runs normal. Idle is about 900 RPM.
As soon as I drive the car a little, idle is about 1800 RPM.
No fault codes (1444=no problems detected).
Any ideas?
TIA!

Check your vacuum lines. Also check your throttle body to make sure that nothing is sticking and also check your Air Flow Meter.

When its idling high like that take a small hammer and tap the idle air valve, if its still there tap on the mass air meter, the doors inside usually get stuck.

I also had the same problem, replaced the Throttle position sensor and it kinda worked, Also check the air intake pipes for parishes
