Upgrade control arm bushings
Over the week i swapped my suspension from stock "IS" to bilstein sports and M3 springs, what a difference, ride is a bit stiff but i like the way the tires are glued to the concrete now and a nice drop. so my question is to what bushings i can upgrade that will not require to get the car aligned afterwards, or is that inevitable.
i was reading that the suspension is the same for E30, E36 and E46's, which m3 spec bushings are better?
Not sure on stock parts, but you may want to try powerflex PU control arm bushings?
I have the full rubber bushings on my car. I believe they are the m3 bushings. There will be no alignment required since only toe is adjustable.
If you get the off set bushings they give you a better camber for turning.
I wouldnt go with urathane bushings, some might say different but I think they give a harder ride.
And if you want to spend 600$ m3 aluminum arms are always a plus.
With your set-up go urethane. I put two sets of OEM rubber on and they both went bad in 60,000 so I have these, which is what you need.
As for aluminum control arms get e36 aluminum.
thanks for the feedback guys, i might go with 96 M3 bushings, they don't require alignment afterwards.
has anyone tried any of the bushings from below vendor, certainly they look interesting.
