E21, E30General discussion and technical help for 1975-1991 3 series cars.
Hey guys, the time is coming for me to get new tires and I decided that I might as well get some wheels too. I don't have the money for the wheels that I really want right now, but I like these too. http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand For a tire I am thinking these, 195/60HR14 Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS. So my question is do I need spacers for these wheels? In another thread I read something about 20-25mm for e30s and these are 38mm.

Hey if you order off of the tirerack and they say they will fit the car they are usually good about giving you the spacers and such with your order. You can call and ask too they are always helpful. You could also try a 205/55/14 if i remember correctly (double check that before placing an order).

Made in china= stay away!!!!! Go bbs or something like that quality, Try www.rims-n-tires.com on lower right there is a wheel tire calculator for offset and sizing.
your current rims are cool as well...
why don't you try to get euro bumpers?
The current ones came with the car and I don't really like them all that much. I think it is mainly because they are black. What about just painting them so they aren't black? I don't know I still have plenty of time to think about it this isn't happening right away.

Cool, thanks Nick.

The wheels that I really want, but can't afford right now, are BBS 16'' RG-F. http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand
My thinking is I'm tired of black wheels and it wouldn't cost much more to get those and tires then to just get tires for the current wheels. New tires are $600 and I have no spare. These wheels and tires would be $800 for five. Tires for the current wheels are twice as much. These wheels are purely from an economic point of view. That being said, would I be better off to just wait until I can afford BBS? What is going to be bad about wheels made in China?
nice BBS, but expensive... why don't you get the ones Nick has? I think I remember they're a lot more affordable...
chinese rims: bad quality. May crack or break, dangerous especially after potholes. Have reportedly already caused many accidents
Wow... I definitely don't want those then. Somehow I missed the ones that Nick has they would look great in 16''. I guess I'm going to wait a little bit longer so I can get BBS. Even those would be about two thousand since I would get five of them. I think it is worth it, but for now I guess I will just get tires.

The thing i really like about the ones you selected is you can get them in a 16" which i think is about the best e30 size and they are A LOT lighter (approx 10lbs each) then the RX.
