E21, E30General discussion and technical help for 1975-1991 3 series cars.
I was just looking at the top 100 member owned bmw's on our "rate my car" section, and out of said hundred cars, there are 5 e30's. 5??? comon. thats just not going to do.
I challenge all e30 owners to take the time to vote on the cars and up the anty on the ignored and underated e30.

E36's are totally awesome! i would absolutely recommend one. They are a bit heavier than the E30, but have more power and have totally smooth and precise handling. An E36 with aftermarket springs and shocks and some 17's makes a mean handling machine. Put a K&N intake and an exhaust, and you get an equally evil sound.
Likewise, how in an E30? I have only driven a '91 318 once. Is the E30 325 as fast as the E36 325?
As far as I could tell, my e30 was more responsive on the excelerator than the e36 I drove. The ride is alot more vivid in the e30 due to its shorter wheel base. You get a much more raw feel out of it. Also its smaller size coupled with its peppy engine, awesome gear box, and suspension to die for, it sort of takes on the role of a street worthy go cart. My suggestion to everyone is if you dont mind shifting all the time, get a manual e30. Its better all arround.
I found the e36 to be more civilized in its ride, power, and comfort than the e30. That I liked. If you are looking for a cheep weekend car that blows your mind, I would suggest an e30. I drive mine almost every day, but thats just me.
I would like to see two stock 325I bmw's one e30 and the other an e36, duke it out on a track. I think it would be a pretty close one.
