Your Ride: 1993 325iC
I have a '93 325iC in Schwarz II. Mostly stock. New interior, top, and redid head 3 years ago. Will post pics when I get home. 153k miles. Just powder coated the valve cover and intake manifold. Looks so much better than the cosmoline. Replacing the power steering pump tomorrow. Always something to maintain, but try to stay ahead on the preventive maintenance.

1993 325iC Pure stock, uh, except for the MOMO Cobra shift knob.
Wisconsin's the place. I have a White 1989 325i convertible automatic(I'm lazy). It is a sweetheart with 159000 on it and no rust to speak of. It has a somewhat crappy paint job from a previous owner. But checking the usual bad spots there is no rust to be seen, i.e. rockers, quarter panels, spare tire well, etc. I did replace the rear seat as the stitching was coming loose and the leather was hard on the upper back. The bottom was scratched up by an animal's claws. I also had the driver's seat repaired on the seat bottom. Whoever had it had a large dog and it liked being all over the interior. The flip top appears to be nearly new. The stitching is nice and white and the rear window is clear and unscratched. It does have a small oil leak of some kind that leaves a few drip spots when parked for a while. I need to come up with the little hydraulic lifters for the convertible top frame and the convertible top cover. They want to fall down while putting the top down or up. The top is Manual. It takes about 30 seconds to put up or down.

I haven't figured out, is the Cabrio what they call all the convertibles or is that a specific design? Mine says nothing about Cabrio on it or in the manual. Hoping maybe you know.

Your Ride: 1990 325i Convertible (also own a 1984 318i)
I have a 1990 325i convertible... automatic But like another poster, I could not pass up the deal. It needs a lot of work but that's because it's all original and was used - A LOT! 300,000 kms. :P
The work is the general upkeep that needs to be done when a car is 20+years old. But the body is in lovely shape. Original light blue paint. The leather is cracked but no rips (one seam is split about an inch).
I didn't realize that the 318is were so much rarer than the 325is. We were looking at the 318i 5-speeds but they didn't have the power that the 325i (even auto) has. And we wanted power. :-D

Your Ride: 1989 325i convertible
I am new to the forum and I just got a 1989 325I convertible in white with black interior. Its got 125k miles and a few "quirks" but she's fun to drive. Unfortunately, those quirks are getting expensive......

Your Ride: 1990 325i Convertible
I bought a 90 325 Convertible a few months ago...good body..engine...a/c even works...but it needs some cosmetics...1) New Top (top looked good...but was dry rotted) and2) Interior Fix...some of the leather seats have come unstitched or separating...I got an estimate from a top shop I use (I'm in the car biz) and it was only about $500 to fix that...so I'm driving the car regularly deciding if I want to spend the money...or keep using it as a classy beater car. Thanks, John PS I'm hooked on the way they drive...
I have a 1989 white with tan interior. I had to have the transmission fixed for a lot more then $500! But after driving all summer it was well worth it. I'm doing the resto thing and have found a rear seat to replace the dried, cracked and split leather rear seat. Now I just have to find the not-too-expensive front seats for mine. The seats I have are older vinyl, which are OK but I do like the original leather better! I have other things that I want to put in new but it has to wait until I have the money for new shocks and A/C repair, etc. The Bimmer has a better ride then many new cars I've ridden in! And I have 159 K miles on it.

I live an hour north of minneapolis in mn and i have one of two cabrio e30s in the town... mine was bought as a project car that i havent been able to finish yet needs paint and a few other small visual fixes also my automatic transmission just went out so i need to replace that or i might do a s50 swap... i love this car tho
I REALLY LUCKED OUT ON THE BODY OF MY 325icabrio AS THE BODY WAS IN GREAT SHAPE. MY TRANNY ALSO WAS BAD. I WENT THE ROUTE OF HAVING IT REBUILT. I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER OF GETTING A USED ONE THAT WOULD FIT. IT COST ME ALMOST 2300 TO HAVE IT REBUILT BUT IT STILL HAS A YEAR OF WARRANTY TO GO. I WOULDN'T HAVE HAD THAT WITH THE USED ONE. I JUST FINISHED INSTALLING NEW TRUNK SHOCK, NEW TOP STORAGE COVER SHOCKS AND LED INTERIOR AND TRUNK LIGHTS. NEXT I'M LOOKING AT CHECKING OUT THE SHOCKS AND SPRINGS. SEE IF THEY HAVE TO BE REPLACED AND THE A/C. PEOPLE LAUGH WHEN I SAY THAT BECAUSE IT IS A CONVERTIBLE. BUT IT IS GREAT WHEN IT IS 100 DEGREES OUT! TOP UP OR DOWN! IT'S SORT OF LIKE HAVING THE HEAT ON WHEN YOU HAVE THE TOP DOWN. MY TOP WOUND UP BEING ALMOST BRAND NEW SO I BOUGHT AN INTERIOR COVER TO PUT ON WHEN I PARK FOR ANY LENGTH OF TIME. KEEPS THE SUN OFF THE LEATHER BACK SEAT WHICH I REPLACED WITH A LIKE-NEW ONE I GOT FOR 200 OFF THE INTERNET. IT ALSO KEEPS BIRD DROPPINGS OFF THE TOP AND OUT OF THE INTERIOR ALONG WITH LEAVES, STICKS AND DIRT. NOW I AM LOOKING FOR FRONT SEATS AS SOMEONE REPLACED THE ORIGINAL LEATHER ONES WITH VINYL FROM SOME OTHER MODEL. ALMOST BOUGHT A PAIR LAST YEAR BUT THE GUY WOULDN'T GIVE ME A PURCHASE PRICE ON EBAY. HOPE HE GOT MORE THEN WHAT I WOULD HAVE PAID.
