keeping the thread alive. Anyone out there have an e30 cabriolet That has not yet posted? Thay are pretty rare cars. According to previous posters, something like 7% of all e30's were convertibles, and about 3-4% came to America. Verry exciting stuf!

Good morning all
I just got a 90 325I convertible. the exterior paint was pretty faded and the seats leather is pretty bad, but the engine is in great shape, with only $60, 000 miles in it. It is in my garage in pieces and I am rebuilding it. It is so far a labor of love, but man, an expensive one. i just got a new top, and new shocks all around installed. Should have it on the road in a month or so. I am in va Beach VA and have not seen another one here.

good luck with your rebuild. I have a 1987 with the powertrain of an 89. I need to get my seats redone too. I've yet to put this vehicle on the road but look foward to it this spring. It's white w/tan roof.

Hello, I am in WV, and have a 1989 vert 325, second owner, engine was rebuilt at 182K, runs great, wife wants a new top, everything is original except radio. It will also need a paint job, clearcoat is looking "cracked". Mine (0r hers!) is Bronze-it-beige metalic, black top, black leather, automatic.

Hey Ododo. I found some covers in bavarian auto for $180 dollars thta fit like a glove on the seats. i am planning to give them to a local guy to custom fit and to enbroyd the Steelers logo in them. I am also taking the BMW logo rounders of the front and the back and sandblasted the blue and white prop logo and having a local airbrush artist place the steelers logo there also. i will have pics soon. Question, what is a cabriolet?

Have a 90 blue one with 52k on it.
Car is factory: no mods. Body nice, paint slightly faded, interior o.k.new top.
Only problem is there is a scrapping sound coming from the rear of the car at speeds above 20 mph.
mzbmw325i on this site had the same problem, posted but haven't got a reply yet.
Anyone else experience this???
Thanks,
Tony.

Could be your differential fluid gummed up, wheel bearings worn, or rear brake pads/rotors need replacement.

New to the site - hello all. I recently purchased a 1991 325i Cabrio (no pictures to post yet). Bought it from the original owner who had it garaged it's entire life. It only has 22,000 miles on it and doesn't need much. Interior is near perfect and the top looks good. Timing belt has been replaced twice - once in 1997 at 11,000 miles, and once in 2005 at 19,000 miles. Unfortunately, it's an automatic, but I couldn't pass up the deal as the person (co-workers dad) was going to trade it in on a new 3 series and take nothing for it.

Smile I have one!

I have an e30 convertible! I got one after my mom got her 745, plus thru high school my gf had a 94 325...kinda got me addicted to bimmers since then. Probably not the only one this has happened to!

It's black on black, and has come a long way since I bought it. It's had just under $4,000 in repairs, and still won't pass smog but I'm planning to do that next week. It has a new top too, runs great I love it. I plan to post some pictures soon!

I kinda fell in love with the look of the e30 conv. after watching the beverly hillbillies when I was like what...8 years old? I got this one for only $1,000 from one owner who apparently didn't take great care of it as he had said. But its just about done now.
