I can't do it

I cannot sell my E30.

ive gotten 5 offers. All at asking price or better. I could sell the car with no loss after 5 years and 70 thousand extra miles. Jesus. The jew inside of me is crying at the moment. I had three enthusiasts reply, one other dude and a girl i knew from high school(no idea how she knew i was selling it...might call her back for lunch or some shit.)

BUT...:bawling. Ahh...i honestly go into the garage to do laundry and stare at that fucking thing. its so hawt. even bone stock. Imagine that thing with H/R and Konis. my god. Too many memories. Too many close calls. I almost hit 10 walls with that thing, most at break neck speeds. Ahh the donuts. Rain drifting. 70000 miles of my driving life...cant do it.

I would sell my E46 in a heart beat.
Cant sell this thing. Even though every 500 miles i say "fuck this thing...somethings broken again." bah

sorry.

end emo rant.

The E36 I bought for myself and my family. An E30 would be for me alone. Why sell it at all?

Im in college, I pay $800 a year to not drive it.

why not drive it?

I commute over a 30 mile stretch of windy road to get to school every day, it has taken its toll on the 318 and it needs new suspension. Also has no AC (E46 does, and you know you need it in CA) and the head lights are sub par compared to the E46 for night time driving.

I how you feel!

That insurance isn't bad for your age. Is that full coverage? I guess it depends on how much you've put into the car and how much you've gotten out of it. I was fortunate to find a private seller who put more $ into the car than they wanted to because they took it to mechanics. They just got tired of putting $ money into it. Look around and it becomes more apparent that these older cars are being dumped because they've been abused. If you ever want another E30 are you willing to pay a premium and look long and hard for a car that you could have kept?

On the other hand, it's just a car.:spin

Witeshark,
Let me know if you ever want to sell that. I know my way around Florida. I'd be happy to make the trip once I gathered up the dough.
:yum

gldfshkpr 01-11-2008 10:19 PM

BTW, what are the specs on your E30, Numark? Red is nice too.

craig 01-11-2008 10:19 PM

how much are you asking?

Numark318i 01-11-2008 10:48 PM

$4000

1991 E30 M42. 4 Doors.
-135hp(something like that) and close Tq specs plus ECU "Chip" adding ~15hp/tq.
-~2600 pounds.
-Bilstein touring shocks and stock bmw springs(replaced at 100000 miles..in need of new ones)
-new stock control arms and bushings.(5k on them)
-New Poly urethane rear subframe bushings
-rebuilt z3 steering rack installed. (decreases lock to lock to 2.7 as opposed to 4 when turning wheel making it more responsive)
-new tie rods
-brembos all around(drilled in the rear..decided on regular in the front)
-hawk hps pads all around
-blue racing fluid for brakes(i forget the brand)
-replaced thermostat and water pump
-new belts(although it still chirps sometimes...wth
-New emblems(almost time to replace again though)

interior all stock with one crack in the dash and a piece missing from the Instruemtn cluster(i broke the corner off while fixiing it). Everythign else is clean. Pleather not leather, but still nice.

Exterior is oxidizing a little. Body is all straight. Doors all close correctly(better then my E46..once again...wth) Door locks still work. four dents. hood chips from driving.

and thats my car.

forgot to add if i sell the E30 i would get raped by my insurance with my E46. I would be paying 1700 a year for just the 330. where as right now im paying $600. Crooks.

celsdogg 01-12-2008 12:46 AM

i know how you feel. dont do it. justify it all you want, nothing will patch the hole left if you do sell it.

MTurboPower3 01-12-2008 01:46 PM

I think you should sell ur e46 and and work on the E-30 more make more power and look better. You can see an e46 everyday but how many e-30's do you see. It might not be worth much but if i was you would keep it just for sedimental value.

denyo77 01-13-2008 09:27 AM

keep her, she's a beauty!

Yea not selling it. Turned down another 2 offers yesterday. Some guy offered me a 50inch plasma...haha.

good point. I honestly like the stock look, minus a drop and tint. But i do plan on suspension at some point.

Fucking E30. I actually really like it because its unique, you dont see many 4 door, red e30s anymore. Same with my E46, not many 330ci in stahl blu.

nick_318is 01-13-2008 03:00 PM

Dump the e46, get another e30 as a daily and fix up yours and still have some extra cash. I just drove mine around the other day since the snow and ice was gone even if its uninsured at the moment I love the fucking thing. I just bought sway bars and new headlights and some other stuff and am getting ready to dump a bunch on fixing all that is wrong with it and make sure I can keep driving it for another 60k.
