89 325i cold weather missing etc..

Okay i have read and read and not seen this symton yet. My 89 on a cold morning normally below 40 degrees will miss cut out and run like crap. Once the temperture outside warms up the car runs fine. The car itself can be in normal temp range (coolant wise) and as long as the weather is under 40 or so it is cutting out like someone starving it for fuel or cutting the fire off to the engine.

I have replaced, spark plug wires, plugs, coil, fuel pmp, distributor cap /rotor button, adj valves, etc..still no results. I havbe read that the idle control valve can cause almost similar issues but noone seems to have had this problem exactly yet, that i have read.

I NEED IDEALS???

Thanks to anyone that can point me in the right condition.

Might try cleaning the idle control valve. Might try a fuel filter, a thinner oil. Anyone else have ideas.

Inspect the ducting in the intake for cracks. When there are cracks, the air doesn't match what the engine computer expects and that'll cause it to run that way. The cracks may close up when things warm up. (I had this happen)

^^ +1 to both of them. My car had similar symptoms which were solved by a new fuel filter.

+1 to cleaning the ICV, and i would also do the intake manifold. i also have heard that replacing some temperature sensor could fix the problem. i'll try to get more info on that.

ICV and boot sound like a good start.

how much are these intake ducting and where do i get one. Part number be nice. I will just go ahead and buy a new one of those and probably a new ICV or used ICV on ebay. and give it another try.

Seems like it all points ICV and intake boot?? is this not right?? Will cause it to act like it cutting off going down the road??

A new ICV goes for around 300 from your dealer. When your cars running rough again
try hitting on the ICV with your hand or a hammer, if your car dies out the second you hit it or it begins to idle smoother then its defentaly your ICV.
You can also rmove it and shake it. If you hear a clicking noise then its worn, new ICV's dont make any noise wheny ou shake them.
