Hi,
I only use the blower on full hot when bleeding the rad on my e36. I always thought it was to slow overheating of the engine while your getting the air out of your system with the engine running.

Correct me if I'm wrong though anyone.
Hope that helps
its actually to circulate the coolant that is in the heater core so you can get all the air out of the system

Hi If you are having problems with air lock try this-
Engine running
Heater controls set to hot
Header cap off
Keep squeezing all water pipes watching for air bubbles
Top up coolant as required
When satisfied no air put header cap back on
Release bleed valve on thermostat housing and check that no air and only coolant is coming out.
Do this after your system flush.
