:( sad to say

I will have to sign off my car (or how do you call it in english, when you go to the vehicle administration and give them your license plates or w/e because you won't use your car for a longer time).
Because insurance, taxes and fuel is way too expensive for me at the moment, I will have to leave my loyal bimmer in the garage.
It's also because I don't want to drive it on salted roads (it's basically rust-free), and I don't want to drive a 170-hp car with RWD in heavy snow. Also I can't really afford winter tires. So that's why I have to leave it in the garage for some months, probably until March.
Maybe I can drive my mom's merc A200 whenever she doesn't need it... which is like never. If I had learned to drive stick-shift b4 winter, I could dirve my dad's Volvo, but since I've been too lazy to do so, that's prolly not an option.

It has an upside: I can finally do the engine swap to a 2.7 engine... and build in a new, "sharp" camshaft... I'll try to get 220 hp out of the engine. Yeah, it IS possible. Without a turbo.

Anyways, I hope I can keep the car on the road for a week or so, but after that it'll be over.

Jeez, I almost miss it already. Yesterday I drove an hour just for fun.

Here it is the same thing, just turning in the number plates. Sorry to hear that, but then I hear the E30's are really bad in snow. I'd never wanna drive my car on salt either. By the way, I could get salt all over my car right now by driving along the beach with 25 knot onshore winds with higher gusts

i was scared for a minute, i thought you were gonna say you had to get rid of it!

this isnt so bad. i cant wait to see how your 2.7 turns out. i know metric mechanic here in the US bores and strokes M20's to put anywhere between stock to 240 hp. gl with that!

yeah, E30's in the winter do stink, and salt is bad for any car, particularly older ones. so best to keep the bimmer in, especially that touring!

Hey that's the price you pay when you live in a place that has all four seasons either you mess your car up during the winter with salt or you don't drive it until march or april.

Sorry to hear that but the e30 in the snow sucks, winter tires help. Sounds like you have some good plans for it.

Hey mate, sorry to hear that. We don't have to turn plates in here, as far as I know, but not much snow, and glad to say, no salted roads! But hey, when it's in the garage you can be cooking up some wicked mods for your touring! (evil laugh). I might garage mine too, and unveil it in the Spring.
