X brace

Has anyone installed an e36 Xbrace on e30? Want to install in 88 325ic?Any noticeable improvement or a waste of time and money. Thanks.

I'm not sure an E36 X brace will fit an E30. But I am sure a brace will improve the car's rigidity as in any drop top :deal

I dont know that it works you might be able to if you do some work, just get some sway bars.

I know the x braces came on the convertibles, is there anything like that, that came on the e30 verts? A friend of mine has a really nice e30 vert, but I haven't looked underneath it.

...get Ireland sway bars (or some other big bars) and the full table reinforcement kit (from Turner Motorsport) and you will really be in business.

I know that the bars are considerably more than the X-brace, but I was told that the E36 brace will not fit the E30 (would have to be modified?)... and the above suggested mods would do the trick... correctly.

Coupled with upper stress bars ft. and rr. and Eibach (or H&R) springs/Bilstein sport shocks, & Rogue rr. shock mounts you would have a veritable wolf in sheep's clothing with respect to handling.

Sorry... I got a little carried away...:shades

Thanks for the info. Have stress bar, Bilstein sport shocks and mounts installed. The ride is a bit hard with body flex on bumpy roads, but handles nice at speed. Don't know if sway bars will stif up the body? BTW.Want to trade one of your m3s for for 325ic:yum

Sway bars will definitely stiffen up the car and remove a lot of roll from cornering, but your ride will be more harsh. IE sways are probably next on my mod list, then R comps and the track! :devil
