Any excuse............E30 Touring

After many months of washing and polishing the touring, while trying to ignore ugly rust bubbles appearing along the sills and near the mud flaps, I finally bit the bullet, and nearly a week ago now, began rubbing the sills to the bare metal before hammering out the rust, rust treating, sanding some more, priming, and finally treating them to a nice new coat of satin black.

When the paint hardens I'll polish them up. Next job is to match the rear valance, so hope the weather holds!

Simple, yet very eye catching:yum

I'd love to see a pic with the hatch open :nod

GreenTourer 10-18-2007 03:15 PM

Thanks guys.

I wanted something subtle, yet appealing, and think I've nearly achieved it.........:beer

witeshark, what do you mean the hatch open? What we call the boot, or what you call the trunk?

I'll get another shot tomorrow. You want to see inside the trunk? Just open, or a rear shot (of the car). Or maybe hood and trunk open!;)

Any of these would be cool :)

Damn you I want that car so much, let me save some money, if you can find me one and let me drive it there and then ship it back for me and clear all the red tape I would pay good money.

Youve done a really nice job of that, just thought I would post mine as a comparison to yours and I gotta admit, I like the way your car looks better than my own, really subtle mods, nice job.

Stevo, thanks for the compliments and nice to see another Brit on here. I think you're touring is pretty cool, too. I like those roof bars.

Witeshark: photos to follow soon. The weather here has turned, so haven't had a chance yet.
