Engine help

Has anyone had trouble with bad lifter noises,my cars made the noise seen I bought it. The guy that I bought it from said he was cruzing down the freeway and hit something and it put a hole in the oil pan. the oil leaked out and the lifters started making a noise. The oil pan is fixed and I'm just wondering if any one has or nows how hard it would be to change the lifters? It don't really affect the performance that much because the car still gets up and moves, it just sounds like crap and I want to get it fixed. But theres not to many people I trust to work on my car, and I love working on it anyways. Can anyone tell me how hard it is and if its really worth doing???

You might be able to try a thicker oil to help quiet them down. Otherwise I think its going to be a fairly involved job.
