E30 Rims

does any1 here have these rims on their E30, i am kind of tempted to save up some cash and buy them. i am leaning toward 16's for my 88 325is.

if i put them on my stock shocks/springs temporarly would the car look funny?

if you have pics please post.

I think you should get BBS rims like 15 or 16" they always look sick on an E 30

denyo77 08-24-2007 03:24 PM

yeah, like the ones on Nick 318is' E30
he's got crazy BBS...
or get yourselves the Alpina rims

what price range did you pay for those, i checked BBS's website, one rim is almost the set of sport max's:bowdown

BBX, is that a typo:D

nick_318is 08-24-2007 04:59 PM

^yes its a typo, I didn't buy these rims they came with the car when it became mine, I want to say they are probably $350 a pop + tires.

denyo77 08-25-2007 05:46 AM

now that would be affordable
here in Germany they're like 600 euros
I think
that would be about 800 bucks

I like the split rims, but not that pattern you have chosen. I personally like the old-skool BBS or Alpinas on the E30. A lot of people go for the Alpina reps, but I've heard the thin spokes on the reps can crack.

These are nice!

It's down to personal taste I guess, but I have no idea what's available in the States for the E30.

celsdogg 08-26-2007 09:53 AM

nick, the 215's fit without rubbing? i was going to get 205's coz i know they dont rub, but if 215's fit, that would kick ass.

nick_318is 08-26-2007 11:57 AM

215 without rubbing you need a low profile though, although i think the size I list above is very similar to the stock diameter. My car is lowered as well and I have only rubbed once and that was on a turn gone wrong with a whole lot of body roll. I know 205s fit the stock wheels and I think im going to get a set of R compounds to put on my weaves for the track next year.

Not that i'm aware of. Alpina is like the "Forbidden Fruit" of America. I think they just recently started importing some Alpina models to the states. Older parts and accessories aren't easy to find.

MZ, Alpinas around here aren't that cheap. I have been looking for a set for my E30 and in good condition some run in the upwards of $500 (w/o tires). GT, those borbets look NICE:yum :yum what size are they?

On the tire size, I have 16x9 in the back w/215-40ZR16. I had to roll the fenders on mine but think that if you run anything up to 16x7.5 you should not have a rubbing issue.

celsdogg 08-26-2007 05:34 PM

Alpina has only sold 2 or three models here in the states in the last few years. one was an alpina z8 roadster, and right now they are selling that alpina B7 E65.

thanks for the info nick, maybe 215's will be the way to go!
