air conditioning
This morning I decided to do a few errands even though it had been raining all morning. On the way back the ac was blowing out moisture. It was weird it almost looked like steam but it was cold and there were a bunch of little water drops in it. :wtf What is causing this?
I have had AC in other cars appear to steam (but still blow cold) I don't think its a big deal. Other opinions?
Never heard of it. :dunno
All the cars in my family that have had AC problems either didn't blow cold or just didn't work period....but it would be good to know whats up for when it does happen to one of ours. At least it still blows cold, I couldn't drive in the heat around here right now with out AC.:drive2 You live in AZ....I know I couldn't stand it in AZ.
Some water may have gotten into the vent system from the outside vents in front of the windshield.
That is probably the worst part about AZ, the heat.. So it isn't a big deal whiteshark?
That actually happened in my old e36. There were some bad solder joints on the board that controls the climate. I guess that probably doesn't help a lot with your car, though.

Ok. Thank you

Yea I just re-read this and when I had it happen to me in a jeep, it was also in rainy conditions.
The only time I've had that happen is when it was when all the humid air got inside the car. Basically, in my experience, it's just condensation forming from really cold a/c. Other than that it's just getting moisture in the system somehow.
Since it still blows cold air and the vapor only shows in rainy conditions I don't believe it is anything critical. However if you have time to kill I'd go ahead and track down the problem. |
Oh when mine used to be really bad was when the weather seals on my door were beginning to unglue. This basically added alot of moisture to the inside of the car. So yeah sometimes it's something retarded like that.
if it gets really really bad all the time, could it be your evaporator?
