E21, E30General discussion and technical help for 1975-1991 3 series cars.
I have noticed about a month ago that my E30's cruise control stopps working from time to time. If it happens, it won't accelerate or keep the speed. I also noticed that I have problems with the ignition distributor, that means sometimes the car will start right ahead and sometimes it'll take up to 8-9 seconds. The spark plugs are all new, I changed them recently.

Cruise Control
Let's start with an easy fix. Check the stop light switch that activates off of the brake pedal arm. If that switch sticks (mine did from time to time) in the partial release mode your cruise control will not work. I had this happen on my '88 750, kids 90 325ic, and our '96 Caravan.
