Engine Help

ok so my dad just got me a 318 mid 80's engine but i have a 318 91 bimmer will the mid 80's engine fit in 91?

ok, as far as i am aware the mid '80's engine should fit fit into your '91 car.
bmw kept the engines basicly the same during that time span to keep production costs down, you may have to change the sump/oil pan, check it against your existing engine (assuming you have one)

Yes It should fit, I think the M42 engine in the 91 is a better choice then the m10 in the mid 80s bimmer. I do understand that the m10 takes well to a turbo though, do you have any plans?
