Ive *heard* the transfer cases are a 3 grand part to replace. If you dont understand how the car works, i dont either, take it to someone who actually knows what an iX is, most mechanics will have no idea.
Im not one to usually say 'pay someone to check it out for you', but with the iX, its a lil different.

nah it's sold now anyways, it must have been good, some chick was selling it for a friend, who had moved out of the country. they were asking 3500 for it

The 325iX is a super car! But! Look for $$ for parts and low grade maintenance since they are old! Really a dedicated BMW fan fix - it car, but great when done! The M20 2.5 six is bullet proof!
