H&R Sport Springs

I wanted to ask where you guys purchased your springs from, is the tirerack the only place that I can find with descent prices on those set of springs.

Depends on how much you want to spend to include shipping. Do a Google search. It should show you a ton of places. Here you go.
Good luck.

from additional extensive search/research i see that the H&R sports do come in different options, does the coloring indicate the drop, i read the red sports give lower drop, # 29664 sport springs, anyone has these and can comment? thanks

You would probably be happy with h&R Sport springs, I don't know if there are differences, i think with the sport you would get a 1-1.5inch drop all around. Race springs drop it really low. On the H&R site it list the part number as 50406 and they say approx drop of 1.3 inches.

I'm rolling H&R's and mine sits low, very low. I would have to lift it to see the numbers on the springs to tell you (got them off a wrecked 320i over here) but it's about 1.5" all around. I also had to use bump stops on the rear shocks 'cause my tires rubbed.

the reason i ask for the difference on the H&R sport spring set is because the link below has the red sport spring type, i thought they were the race but it says sport, on tirerack they are black or something and it lists to drop 1.3 inches, where the red 1.5, i am leaning on them so i might pull the trigger this weekend.

a little update, i got a reply from turnermotorsport regardng the red sport springs, answer below:

"Disregard the color of the spring, it means nothing.

The difference is the drop and the rate.

50406: 190LB front, 343LB rear
29664: 180LB front, 285LB rear"

make sense to anyone else? seems to me that they said "don't worry about the color, it doesn't mean anything except the size of the drop."

Use the 50406, thats what H&R specifically has listed as the part number for your car, plus you should like the extra stiffness.

bilsteins/koni's r too expensive for my budget, has anyone tried other shocks with the H&R sport springs.

what do u guys think of the tokico HP series struts and shocks (front and rear about $230), would they be a good fit?

E30tech.com is thinking of doing a group buy on the IE race stage 3 springs which is a similar stance to the H&R Sport might want to look into them they are good springs and I think a pretty decent price if they get enough people.

http://www.e30tech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50581

I haven't heard anything about the BAV Auto springs. If i made a recommendation it would be the IE springs or the H&R based off of what I have heard.

I got Eibach Pro, and I'm very happy with them
they lowered the car about 40 mm all round
