tempreture gauge gone crazy?!?!?

hi on my touring my temp gauge needle keeps going crazy and i dont no what this means??? can any one help? cheers jim

Have you done any work on your hoses and cooling system lately? you might have air trapped in the system. Also, you might want to check if your water pump is working, because it'll get hot really quick if it's not. Also check your sensor too.

your SI board may need replacing. thats a frequent cause of E30 gauges going crazy or not working.

the needle is all over the place , i have only jus got the tourer and it looks to me that the rad is brand new, and it does get hot but not very quicky so it may need bleeding?

Does it do it all the time or just certain times, do you have to drive hard for this to happen, more info on when it happens would be helpful.
