sway bar links and rpm issue

hi all,

i have few questions to ask

1. this weekend i am planning to replace the sway bar support links, has any1 performed it, looks like a pretty straight forward job, is alignment necessary after replacing them? on the link below , part # 8

2. RPM issue, my car is automatic, once in a while after i drive and put the car in park, i see the rpm shoot up to around 1 and the engine sounds like its forced, it does that for few seconds and it goes down to normal again.

i am not touching the gas pedal or anything, it does that once in a while, not every time. is it something with the fuel supply, etc. any input is welcome what should i look for; i changed the fuel pump/filter, spark plugs/distributor cap, late last year.

Car recently passed the 202k mark.

Replacing the sway bar links does not demand an alignment. I'll be doing teh same job this weekend.

Yeah sway bars are not in need of alignment. The RPM problem I'm gonna have to think on. Its not like the RPMs are jumping so much people walking by turn around? Its just a little blip? That might just be normal when you put a transmission in park

thanks for the sway bar links info. can't wait to slap on those babies.

the rpm issue, well i don't know what else to say or describe it as, for example this morning i came to work, and parked, turned off the ignition and the rpm did not rev up, or the engine, like i said it does it only every other time or so when i turn off the car.

Well when it does it, is it like a little blip? or is it like VROOOOOM and people stop and look thinking what the hell is he doing?

Sorry for the late reply, well it's just weird, i will try ad take a video w sound one of these days before i turn off the ignition and hopefully catch the rev and how the rpm goes up.

i have not noticed people turning around and looking a time, i doubt its too noticeable from the outside, but sitting in and it does make u wonder why it does it.
