dad has owned it for 6 years... recently gave it to me, theives tried to rip into the top they thought the convertable release lever was to open a door...................................... WTF???? lol dumb but ya my dad wheeled and dealed it for 240 bucks... yes 240 bucks gal came into my dad's work and "my car wont start" yatta yatta she broke the timing chain and kept trying to start it and bent all the valves so.. she called her bf and was like ok ya 240 bucks is a good deal LOL no this car was not beat up or anything only thing wrong was basicly needed a new head at that time and the back seats were crummy.. (ripped, and rock hard) so my dad bought a 86 325e and just pulled the whole 2.7litre out of that and used it, but kept the auto trans. since ive owned it i oil the seats TRY... to soften the leather, twice a week... ive recently been putting a blue pool tarp over it to keep rain water out pulled back the soaked carpet behind the front driver and passenger seat and their was to my surprise no rust... lucky me i guess and plenty of stinky stinky old rain water.. hehh i did my best to soak it up my opinion it NEEDS a new top and it NEEDS new carpet acually... i know where the carpet from the 325e is... it was a 2 door and um.. its not on the car.. because my dad dismantled the entire car anyway could i use its carpet? it seems like it may fit i think.. lemme know =)

To have a 325e engine on that cabrio mmmmmmm I would think on getting another 325i right away, and for the price he got it, men with 1,000 bucks you can have that car in mint condition

heh... i guess :\ takes 3 times to start the car and once it does the flywheel goes RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPP most horrible sound you've ever heard lol but im planning on putting the 5spd from the 325e in it so no cost there... needs a tune up terribly, break sensors hehh stupid 30 dollar part... get it tip top good shape.. prolly 2-3grand
thats with new wheels and cheap racing seats XD

and i have a friend that might give me a great deal on the back seats only they would be cloth not leather but hey... anything looks better than ripped up m3 seats, its not that bad though... i got my 2 12" jl audio competition series subs sitting in the back seat lol... i have to take out the tail lights to get them in the trunk and this is much easier =)

paint isnt bad at all i supose.. no need for paint.. but i do want it black so i wouldnt include "want" in tip top shape cost

wheels.. ill be honest.. i just dont like factory wheels on any car so im including wheels 580 bucks for 4 17" black wheels

alignment=60 some odd bucks

needs oil change... hasnt been changed in 30k miles :|
my dad's a lazy mechanic and im a broke jackass :\

ohh ya.. either way i go new wheels or not needs new tires hehh what? low profile tires 600 bucks for 4?

breaks are good... needa do something with the water pump.. cause the sensor for it has been on ever since the 2.7l has been in the car and running... their different i think my dad says *shrugs* doesnt effect the cars performance just ugly to have a red light on at all times...

RUST... has rust around the rear fender wheels... and under left and prolly right side of trunk bumber hehh cost to repair... more than likely out of my price range have to figure something out

top obiviously.. ive convinced myself i might be able to put this on myself and save money but still a good 500 bucks.. ill spend less if i can find a top that has that hmm... cheap type material.. like the kidn thats on my 88 rx7 convertable its black and definatly cheap feeling lol..

should get a top with a rear window too... cause obviously... from the video.. the rear window is trashed

carpet is a must prolly a good 150 bucks? for a new one.. couldnt find the one from the 325e thought i knew where it was but that was an old crummy rx7 carpet lol

thats it i think... to get the car in atleast "good condition"

ill have 6 grand within 2 weeks or so.. only want to put 3 into it... i do have another e30 i can get for 600 bucks its a 325i... 89 i think ugly us bumpers... hehh

needs new engine block.. but hey i do still have the perfectly good 2.5litre block from the convertable.. one thing i dont understand... most E30's i see in alot better or atleast better condition than mine including this 325i have cracked up dashes... and my E30... has a mint condition dash not even finger nail indentions or anything its simply perfect even the spare dash i have from the 325e has cracks all over it hehh... ho hum i wish i had an E30 like one of your guy's lol

i hate to say it, but you could sell that dash for a few hundred (more than the car is probably worth as a whole in that shape). then you could part out the rest of the car. with 6 grand coming in and money from parts, spend the 3 grand you wanted to put into this one and buy a much nicer E30 (maybe one from 89-91 so you don't get stuck with the diving board bumpers) in full working condition. Mine was about $3500 and has a spotless interior and few cosmetic flaws.

again, i hate to even suggest selling a bimmer for parts, but at this rate its not worth putting 3 grand into. just my opinion.

also, they stopped the ugly bumpers in 89. yours is most definitely an 88 because it has the sports seats and M flywheel (came stock in 88).

no worries brother, your right in every way, also you may be right about it being a 88 hey who knows... lol
anyway ya the top is bad... its horrendous i can get a great deal on having the rear seats reapholstry'd.. w/e lol i can get it in nice leather but i got these fella's that will do it in a mexican leather that they typically use on boats.. but hell.. its leather and i got a good upper hand on them ( working on their cars and being like ohh its cool man you dont owe me anything) their always like hey man just drop them seats off when you want us to do them.. and i figure its worth 240 bucks for a new carpet hell.. other than that needs an alignment and tune up and just the a new flywheel thats it oh ya and the top, the rust.. ill just umm... pretend like its not there FOR NOW but ya the flywheel i can get from this 87 bmw 325i 2 door, nice straight body.. believe this or not.. it has no rust in the trunk anywhere nor the floor board behind the seats or anything or wheel wells its alllllll good.. has an auto transmition thats good to go, gal locked the motor up blah blah i think ive blabbed about it on here but ya guy wants 600 bucks for it its good to go, terrible dash ragedy basic style leather seats... but i have a 5spd from a 325e coupe i dismantled ima throw in it and use the good auto in my vert. but hey man if its worth it to one hell im gonna do it =)
and... i like the thought of being able to part that vert out, alot of the parts on it are worht some good money and yes prolly more than the car is worth i tried to see what i could get for it just to see and i couldnt get anything above 700, but... i woudl let the car simply rot to the ground before i dismantle it lol... just wanna those things ya cant get rid of... guess im an ass lol
