Is your muffler rusting out like everyone elses? They just keep getting louder and louder. I put a 40 series flowmaster on my '95 325i and it sounded pretty good, but a bit loud.

Flowmaster on a E30 vert is way too loud for my tastes. It sounds like a fart can from inside the car.
