battery problem

Heres the deal my battery needed replacing so I went to autozone and purchased a brand new battery. Now after a week of runnung the car the new battery is dead again. I do not think my alternator is bad because with the other battery being dead I drove to autozone on my alternator. I'm thinking something could be grounding out, don't really know... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

take car to Autozone & have them do the free test at curbside. They can check the alts output - if battery & alt test good THEN you have a short somewhere.

You could have a weak alternator that is putting out enough to run the motor, but not enough to charge the battery. You could also hookup an ammeter in series with the battery, with nothing running to see if you have any current flow when you shouldn't. Anything over a few mA should be looked at (clocks and radio memory need some juice.)
