e28 Clutch gone

hey guys, my clutch went over the weekend. something with the master cyclnder. the clutch pedal goes down, with no resistance and no effect and pops back up. the spring is still intact and connected. it appears to still have fluid. i can only imagine i have a leak some where. any ideas

You might just have air in there? Try bleeding the system. I know that on E36's, those symptoms are usually just air in the lines, or improper bleeding. Or you might have a damaged/torn clutch fluid hose?

Age & big temp changes can swell & crack the seals which causes leaks and/or air intrusion. I'd guess hose first then maybe clutch slave cylinder.

you said it has fluid in there? how are your brakes do they work well? try pumping the clutch and see if it builds up pressure
