Unhappy interior electrical

hello everyone,

im new member here, so sry for the distracting opening thread, but i really need some help, im facing an interior electrical problem with my 1990 535i, some of the interior elecronics on the passenger side do not work, such as the guage lights and the side mirror adjustment controller and the most important are the turning signals. i checked the fuses everything looks fine, a realy switch could be involved but i dnt know which one, so plz help if someone know anyhting about this problem or faced it, i appreciate any help.

Really sounds like a fuse. That's my first thought. But for the lighting, have you checked the bulbs? Besides that, there may be a relay in the dash somewhere that has shorted out also.

Other than that, welcome to the forums, good to have you.

hello again,

i checked my fuses today and found that there was a blown one. anyways the fuse is 7.5amp's, but when i put 7.5amp's on it blows immediatly, i tried the 10 amps and it worked fine though i know its wrong to that. does anyone have an idea what could have caused that??? aslo the gauges lights does not work only if i turn the fog lights on, could thta be the problem since both of them are wired together??? thnx again

check the wiring diagrams in the ETM I posted for you... your fogs should only come on when you have your low beams on (at least in mine that's how they work) and interior lighting (guages, dials, etc) should work independently of the fogs. Go through the ETM and check your wiring. Could be someone previously messed with it and ghetto-rigged things.
