E39 diagnostic socket

Kind of in a middle of something at work now and we're having the worst luck ever finding the E39 diagnostic socket on a 2002 525.

Now I know where it usually is on that car. But for some un-known reasons... IT"S NOT THERE!

Any ideas where I need to look?

Should be just above the hood release. At your left foot.

If I'm thinking the same thing you are.

No that's the OBD-II. I guess this car doesn't have it. (the same place where the E36 had the oil light reset...)

But it's all good, we found a way around it

You are talking about the round 14pin connector under the hood. That is the OBD1 conncetor for 2000 and below vehicles.
If your trying to reset your oil light you have to go through the cluster.
