AC fan problem
So my problem was that my ac worked intermittently. With a little searching on the internet, I found the solution.
There is a part called the blower resistor. It costs $89 from bavauto.com. I got the part tonight and replaced it. It worked.
My AC now works consistently. I believe the resistor controlled the fan speed. I used a DIY from one of those other sites. I took pictures and if I am not lazy, I will post it. Don't hold your breath.
The part number is 64 11 6 923 204.
The whole procedure took about 30 minutes not including taking pictures. It is a bitch to access.
Hopefully this will help some other fiver owner with intermittent AC fan problems. It is the cheapest attempt to fix.
An independent dealer quoted me $370 for parts/labor and diagnostics.
